Indian country has seen landmark bills passed and 100s of millions of dollars are flooding toward infrastructure, healthcare and education projects. Additionally, Indian gaming is under a renewal with sports betting, resort and conference facilities undergoing construction. This year’s conference is sharing these projects and more with one another. Let’s BUILD Indian Country – together.

About our conference

The CIIC National Conference is the only indigenous construction industry national conference and trade show hosted by a higher education institution in the United States. Together, we, Architects, Engineers, Planners, Lawyers, Contractors, and Tribal Government Officials, provide the latest in industry trends, policies and best practices. Our specialized field of knowledge is geared to assist industry practitioners, tribal government agencies/divisions, and tribal enterprises for building in Indian Country. There will be plenty of opportunities to network, share stories and learn from each other’s successes. We emphasize the importance of tribal sovereignty, nation-centered building while honoring the past.

CIIC 2019 Highlight Video

Our theme in 2019, “Trailblazing in the Built Environment,” presented INNOVATIVE ideas, projects, practices and technologies that sets itself apart from traditional methodologies or processes. We sought to highlight individuals or organizations whose efforts are on the forefront of “blazing trails” for the betterment of tribal economies and development. Our sessions presented ideas and solutions for rural areas and/or on tribal lands in the following five areas: Leadership and Governance; Economic Development; Planning, Development and Infrastructure; Construction and Design Best Practices; and Certification Training.
